After spending a good 3 hours frantically searching toy store shelves for the perfect gift for my 3-year-old daughter, I finally found an item that really caught my eye and was something she would have died of at her age; a Barbie electric car with electric wheels. At first I thought it was a simple pedal cart, but when I saw a girl taking a test ride through the aisles of toy stores, I knew I had to get my hands on one. Although which one? I knew my daughter was a huge Barbie fan, so I settled on that type of car, but there was more than one Barbie vehicle with power wheels and each one looked better than the last.

I noticed that there were 2 versions of the Barbie Power Wheels cars; one was a single-seat vehicle with a slower 6-volt battery that was designed for children between the ages of 1 and 2, so they were out of the question. The other type was designed for children 2-6 years old, these pink Barbie-themed vehicles with electric wheels came as regular cars, jeeps, quads, and even high-end luxury 4×4 cars. I knew she would love to own any of these Barbie powered wheeled vehicles, but she really wanted to pick the perfect one to put a smile on her little face. In the end, I finally settled on two options: the Barbie Jeep and the Barbie Mustang.

Barbie’s Jeep Jammin: This is probably the most popular of all of Barbie’s electric wheel series, it comes in a bright pink and lilac finish with all the details you’d expect from a real jeep. It has the big 4×4 wheels that roll over rough surfaces, side mirrors, windshield wipers, a movable pedal, and even working side doors; everything a child needs to make themselves believe they are an adult. The motor is powered by a 5-volt rechargeable battery that runs at a maximum speed of between 2 and 5 mph, although if you think it’s too fast, there is a safety cut-out feature and adjustable speed control.

Barbie Ford Mustang Electric Wheels: This is the most stylish Barbie Power Wheels series, inspired by the original classic mustang and has the same sleek sporty feel that will definitely make it the talk of all your friends. It comes in a bright pink colorway with a cool tan seat and additional Barbie designs on each side. To add a fun touch to this car, it has a small built-in radio that plays a series of preset sound effects and a series of flashing lights that flash when the key is turned. To add a little more realism to the game, the seats can be adjusted back and forth, plus there is a small drink holder inside. Similar to the Barbie jeep, this Ford Mustang runs on a 5-volt battery and reaches a top speed of approximately 5 mph, although it is best suited for driving on smooth, flat concrete surfaces.
