Applications and advantages of an automatic transformer

Application usage of an auto transformer:-

Apart from this, it is used to adapt the built-in machinery in the industry. It is also used to provide a constant supply of voltage while providing the average voltage near the source.
  • Audio system: In audio applications, the device is used to adapt speakers to provide constant voltage to the audio distribution system. It is also used to match impedance.

Railways: The device is arranged to supply constant power and is also used as a voltage regulator. It gives a small boost to the distribution cable and also corrects the drop. It is used to increase the supply voltage, but due to single winding operation, it cannot reduce the supply voltage.
