Planning the Perfect Wedding Registry

Considerations for a gift registry: what should you focus on?

With society changing so are the ages of people getting married, this means there are now many stages where you may or may not need things. Our quick guide should help you determine what kind of registry is a bride or groom and some tips on where to focus your list…

1) Require the basics – just getting started in every way

When it comes to dinner service or place settings, make sure you get enough of a 6-8 place setting. Remember that there is nothing worse than receiving a game and not being able to add anything to it!

2) You want to upgrade our basics to a worthwhile collection – common among couples who have not lived together and have combined possessions

Some items in the outdoor lifestyle area may apply here, perhaps flower pots, lanterns, chrome garden heaters, deck sets, and barbecues.

3) The Couple Who Has It All: Common in couples in their 30s and 30s who have been living together for a while.

Gift experience vouchers are perfect, are they things you would never buy for yourself, like a champagne balloon flight, driving a fast car, or scuba lessons?

4) Starting over: the list of gifts for those who have been married before

Although you may not want to, your guests will want to buy you a gift, so if you want to avoid a variety of uncoordinated gifts, think about a gift list.

top 5 tips

  1. About a third of your list should cost under £25, with large sets divided up so that you can allow a few people to buy the items.

  3. Shop around, there are a variety of gift registry out there, make sure you work with a company that has an online channel, which makes it much easier to manage.
